Day 53 - The Stomach Ache

Hello blog.

I ate too much food today.

Morningish was a low-carb meal of scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage. Had a ham & swiss panini with a fruit bowl around lunch. Dinner was 1 steak taco and some grilled chicken. And throughout the day I ate 6 Kind bars.

If labels are accurate it was right about 2500 calories on the day. Which isn't horrendous or anything. Plenty of healthy people eat that much every day, but those people definitely aren't as sedentary as I am. I can't eat that much.

I really lost it with the Kind bars today. They're delicious and healthy, but having something that tastes that good around the house is something I can't exercise moderation around I guess. It got to the point where I just wanted to finish them off so I wouldn't have them around the house anymore, because I felt like they were making me hungrier all the time.

So that's it for the Kind bars, I'm all out.

At the time I'm writing this it's morning the next day and I have a pretty bad stomach ache. Not sure if it's all the food I ate leeching all the hydration from my body, or if I'm coming down with something. Flu season is peaking right about now.

I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I'm off to go do the same thing I do every day for 10 hours straight to increase my net worth by 1.25%.

Kill me.

Until tomorrow,
Eric

  1. I think most people have trigger foods, and just can't have that stuff around. Mine is chocolate ice cream, if I buy it, I will eat it all in one sitting, there is no moderation. Simple answer - don't have it in the house!!

  2. I'm speechless...if there was a way I could help, I would. I'd get the on the phone with you...I'd get on an IM session...you are already getting counseling and I hope that it is covering elements of your lifestyle being eating and working.

I so badly want to help you and I have no good way to go about it.

hang in there...reach out...there are those of us who will help.

  3. I totally understand how your actions with the Kind bars. I no longer buy Fiber One bars because I will eat nearly the whole box in a day. The same is true for Weight Watchers cookies and cream ice cream bars. Yeah, they're only 2 points a bar, but after I devour the box, I'd had almost half of my points allowance. I'm not big on denying myself food...as evident by my weight, however, I know I just can't have certain things in the house.

  4. You are learning so much Eric! I've been reading along since the beginning, and you've come a long way. I also got trapped by buying foods that are supposed to help me lose weight. For me it was the 100 calorie packs of cookies and chips. Yay portion control, but not so yay when you eat 3 or 4 bags at once. Best not to have them in the house, I found.

I am sorry you have to work so very hard at your job, and at such a young age. :(

    Hugs to you!

  5. Yup, you sound the same way with tasty bars as I am. It's just best to keep them out of the house. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well.
